All booklets featured on this site are available for loan or reference at a number of libraries within the Nottinghamshire system, including Kimberley Library, Eastwood Library, the Nottingham Central Library at Angel Row, the University of Nottingham [Hallward] Library and the Nottinghamshire Archives. The Awsworth and Kimberley booklets are also currently available at Ilkeston Library .
The ‘Brief History’ booklets are also available to purchase. They have arisen out of a local interest and are offered at a price of £2.00, which aims to recover costs only. They are normally in stock at both Kimberley Public Library and Watnall post office, but up to date availability information can be obtained from the address below. They can also be ordered by post from the author at a price of £2.50, which includes post + packing. Please make an initial enquiry to the email address below. Newthorpe: For some time now I’ve been engaged in research with a view to producing
a booklet, similar to the above, about the history of Newthorpe and its surrounding
area. Contacts would be very welcome from anyone having knowledge, records or photos
of anything historically relevant. Of particular interest would be: the early school,
the institute, pubs both remaining and gone, Newthorpe’s many churches, farms, mining,
blacksmiths; in fact, almost anything which might be of interest. Please contact
